The SNSF Scientific Image Competition encourages researchers to pick up a camera and present scientific work from a different angle. Our picture gallery features some of the photos submitted by UZH researchers.

On a research trip, Dominik Behr from the Department of Evolutionary Biology and Environmental Studies of UZH photographed an African wild dog pup. The pup had repurposed one the researcher’s tranquilizer darts as a toy. (Image: Dominik Behr)

With over 350 submissions, the second annual SNSF Scientific Image Competition was met with great interest by researchers working in Switzerland. An international jury selected one winner and two distinctions in each of four categories.

The winning images and many other submissions will be shown at this year’s Biel/Bienne Festival of Photography from 4 to 27 May 2018. In addition, they are expected to be presented at the Zurich Film Festival (ZFF) and further exhibition venues. You can find the submissions of UZH researchers here.
