Stefan Schnyder has been a member of the Executive Board of the University for the past 16 years, during which he has been in charge of the university-wide areas of finance, human resources and (until 2017) infrastructure. His responsibilities also included overseeing the university’s catering services and sports offering, which are run by external partners.

During his time and under his leadership, UZH launched a plan for the strategic development of the university’s real estate and for the introduction of a new governance model in the area of real estate management, and took important first steps in implementing this plan. Stefan Schnyder has also been instrumental in reaching major milestones to gradually professionalize and modernize the university’s financial management as well as in initiating a key project to develop an integrated human resources system at UZH.

The Executive Board of the University would like to sincerely thank Stefan Schnyder for his great dedication to UZH. “He was a highly reliable and valued member of the Executive Board of the University. I sincerely regret that he is resigning,” says UZH President Michael Schaepman. “I am all the more pleased that after his resignation, Stefan Schnyder will support the Executive Board as a senior advisor and that UZH can continue to count on his valuable expertise.”

The search for a new Vice President will begin in the first quarter of 2022 with a search committee convened by the Board of the University.
